Ali Caless provides clients of the Cantor Colburn’s Trademark & Copyright Practice with valuable insight into trademark and copyright matters. Approachable and responsive, she makes sophisticated legal matters accessible with practical guidance.
Clients benefit from her practical, clear advice and efficient management of portfolios, including drafting strategic filing programs that are sensitive to clients’ objectives and budgets. Ali provides guidance on all aspects of clients’ trademarks needs, including U.S. and international brand clearance, crafting and filing trademark applications, prosecuting applications, registration issuance, maintenance, and preservation.
Ali works with clients on trademark protection and enforcement strategies, including watch programs to detect concerning third-party applications and combat online infringement. She represents clients of all sizes, from startups to Fortune 500 corporations from a broad spectrum of fields including consumer goods, entertainment, automotive, pharmaceuticals, food, and technology.
Ali is adept at helping clients resolve IP-related disputes, both offensively and defensively. She has prepared and successfully prosecuted Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) complaints against infringing domains. Ali is an experienced negotiator for settlement and consent agreements to resolve disputes involving IP rights. She is also experienced with IP due diligence for acquisitions, mergers, and divestitures, assignment transfers of IP rights, and licensing of IP rights. Ali is an active speaker and member of numerous intellectual property organizations, including leadership with MARQUES on the Education Team and with International Trademark Association (INTA) on the Trademark Administrators Committee.
