Victor Libert has been in practice for more than 45 years. His practice includes preparing and prosecuting U.S. and foreign patent applications; preparing infringement; validity and freedom-to-operate opinions; and working with clients to develop strategic intellectual property (IP) portfolios. His transactional work includes negotiating and preparing licensing, joint venture, confidentiality, and other agreements affecting IP and conducting all IP aspects of due diligence in mergers and acquisitions. He has successfully procured outcomes in Patent and Trademark Office appeals and in U.S. and foreign patent and trademark oppositions and cancellation procedures. His patent procurement practice covers a wide range of mechanical and chemical inventions, including explosives and explosive initiation devices; environmental engineering and catalysis; chemical engineering processes, including ammonia production and petrochemical processes; solar energy production; and a wide variety of mechanical devices. Prior to entering practice, Victor had experience as an industrial engineer in public utilities steam generation and in the production of chewing gum, antacid tablets, and similar consumer products. Victor served overseas for more than three years as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
