While working on her Ph.D. in graduate school, Jennifer heard a patent attorney say that he had forgotten more chemistry than she knew.  Being the slightly competitive person that she was, this proclamation did not sit well with her.  Jennifer finished her Ph.D. from the University of Cincinnati and her law degree from Catholic University of America before becoming a patent attorney.

After working as a patent attorney for over eight years, Jennifer gained a better appreciation for the statement “I have forgotten more chemistry than you know.”  As a patent attorney working in the chemistry technology area, Jennifer enjoys the opportunities to immerse herself in various technological advancements.

A Ph.D. chemist, Jennifer is particularly interested in organic chemistry and intellectual property related to polymers, pharmaceuticals, LED devices, and renewable energy, such as recycling and battery development. An experienced patent drafter, Jennifer extracts core inventive properties from complex inventions to develop and tailored claim strategies for various jurisdictions. Because she is competitive, Jennifer strongly advocates for her clients during prosecution of domestic and international patent portfolios and negotiation of the various agreements necessary for invention commercialization.

Jennifer leverages her knowledge of organic chemistry to draft and prosecute application in the technical area of polymer compositions, polymer processes, and catalysts for olefin polymerization processes, as well as material sciences, including magnetic nanoparticles, batteries directed towards anodes and cathodes, and organic light emitting diodes.

She advises innovators, entrepreneurs, academic researchers, industry leaders, and investors across a broad spectrum of industries regarding their international and domestic patent prosecutions, including patent management of US, Canada, Mexico, various European countries, India, Egypt, Thailand, China, Japan and South Korea. She previously worked for a full-service national law firm managing large international portfolios for clients innovating in technologies ranging from catalyst chemistry, polymer chemistry, and startups researching various inorganic nanomaterial, and during this time, she gained comprehensive understanding of assisting universities, small companies, and individual inventors with protection and leverage of their research investments.

Jennifer looks forward to continually learn from leading innovators and continuing obtaining knowledge to better understand the world around her.
