Eric Baron, AI Patent Practice Chair, speaks on Artificial Intelligence and Ethics

The UConn School of Law presents a thought-provoking panel discussion on the rapid growth of artificial intelligence (AI), its ethical implications and its impact on society. Recently, the Future of Life Institute open letter, signed by Elon Musk and other influential figures, called for a pause on all AI experiments. Eric Baron, Partner and Chair of Cantor Colburn's Artificial Intelligence Practice Group and UConn Law '07, is on the panel of distinguished UConn alumni and faculty who will discuss this emerging and rapidly evolving technology.
The panelists will share their insights and perspectives on the potential risks and benefits of AI, the need for ethical guidelines, and the impact of AI technology for society. They are Kiel Brennan-Marquez, Professor of Law, William T. Golden Scholar & Faculty Director of the Center on Community, Safety, Policing and Inequality at UConn School of Law; Regina Gallagher, Vice President, Engineer Platforms & Experience at JPMorgan Chase & Co.; Dipayan Ghosh, Ph.D., Director, Digital Platforms & Democracy Project & Senior Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School; and Joe Johnson, Ph.D., Associate Professor in Residence & Associate Director of Undergraduate Programs in Computing at UConn School of Engineering.
